Volunteer for National History Day (February 25th and April 22nd)

National History Day in Wisconsin is looking for UW Madison students to volunteer at our Madison Regional (Feb 25th) and State Event (April 22nd). Volunteering includes a good time learning about history, interacting with kids, breakfast and lunch!

National History Day in Wisconsin is based out of the Wisconsin Historical Society and has about 10,000 students from 6th to 12th grade participate across the state. Students present their ideas through a creative project: a museum style exhibit, media documentary, research paper, interactive website or dramatic performance. The National History Day contest cycle gives students a chance to present their work to the community while competing to advance to the state and then the national competition. Volunteers help students learn history and actively support the competitions by serving as judges who give individual feedback about the projects. Anyone can judge and the time commitment is small! Diverse experiences and different background knowledge give students the best feedback.

We select interns and office employees from our volunteer pool for the rest of year. Sign ups can be found here (http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/nhdvolunteer) and any questions can be directed to Amanda Kruger at amanda.kruger@wisconsinhistory.org
