Intern Abroad!

The International Internships Program is currently accepting applications from UW undergraduate students of all majors for Summer and Fall 2017 internships around the world. More information is behind the cut, or you can consult their webpage at

All IIP internships are listed on our database where students can search for internships by region, country, language, or professional field. We strongly encourage watching our short Getting Started video  before coming in for advising. Students also have the option to add academic credit to an independently-found international internship through the Worldwide Internship Program (WIP).

Students with more specific questions or those who have watched the Getting Started video can come to walk-in advising hours in 259 Bascom Hall:
                                Wednesdays 1pm – 3pm
                                Fridays 9am – 12pm
Students who cannot attend walk-in advising can schedule an appointment by emailing

Sunday, February 19 (general application deadline for internships on database)
Friday, March 3 (credit application for independently-found internships through the Worldwide Internship Program (WIP))

Students who want to do an independently-found international internship but do not have the details finalized or have not been accepted yet by March 3rd should still apply for WIP by the deadline if they want credit.

Many of the scholarship opportunities for Summer and Fall internships have deadlines in February and March. Students taking the WIP course are eligible for IAP scholarships and other campus scholarships as well as IIP's need-based WIP grant to help offset the cost of the course.

IAP Scholars: February 15
Other IAP scholarships: March 1
WIP Grant & Promega Scholarship (for unpaid STEM internships): March 6

Check the IIP Funding page for more information on how to fund your international internship.
