Looking for a spring internship or a fellowship to support community work? The Center for Academic Excellence and the Morgridge Center for Public Service both have upcoming application deadlines.
The Center for Academic Excellence Career Ready Internship Program is accepting applications between now and November 2. The program matches juniors and seniors with paid internships based on their interests and employers’ needs, and is designed to support low-income students (particularly students of color) in building career networks and gaining experience in business and community leadership.
The application deadline for spring internships is November 2, but please note that attendance at an informational session is required to apply.
For more information about the program, please see their main website at http://cae.ls.wisc.edu/about-internships.htm and their application deadlines at http://cae.ls.wisc.edu/947.htm.
Students interested in public or community service should consider the Wisconsin Idea Fellowship, which provides up to $7000 to support projects that benefit communities beyond the UW campus. The fellowships are awarded for one-semester or one-year projects conducted in collaboration with a faculty member and a community organization.
The application deadline is late January, 2017. For more information, please see the Wisconsin Idea Fellowship website at https://morgridge.wisc.edu/students-wisconsin-idea-fellowships.
