Holding History, a UW-based public humanities program, highlights UW-Madison's Special Collections Libraries by inviting the public to hold, explore, and even take pictures of some of the most important books ever printed. Student curators and rare book experts team up to create a lively, hands-on experience for participants.
Applications for student curators will be available in November. Students who are interested in applying - or who want a close-up view of works like Holinshed's Chronicles (1577) or Topsell’s History of Four-Footed Beasts (1608) - should consider attending the Holding History Keynote Event, "Shakespeare Reimagined," on Tuesday, October 18, at 5:15 p.m. in Memorial Library's Special Collections for an introduction to Holding History. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org as space is limited.
